Limpieza Internacional de Costas

The International Coastal Cleanup Day (ICCD) is the most popular environmental effort in the world, and it is held annually on the third Saturday of September. This year, the cleanup will take place on Saturday, September 21st and in Puerto Rico, the efforts are led by the Scuba Dogs Society. Join thousands of volunteers through more than 200 coastal zones around the island in this worldwide effort to rid our beaches of pollution.

FIBA Women’s AmeriCup 2019

The America’s premier women’s basketball event, FIBA Women’s AmeriCup, is coming to Puerto Rico for the first time. The event will be hosted in San Juan’s historic Coliseo Roberto Clemente from September 22-29 and will feature the National Teams of Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Paraguay, USA, and the host Puerto Rico.
The continental competition will begin with a Group Phase, where teams play round-robin format for four days. The top two teams from each group advance to the Semi-Finals of the FIBA Women’s AmeriCup 2019, where the top team of Group A will play the second team of Group B and the top team of Group B will play the second team of Group A. The winners of the Semi-Finals will go-on to play for the continental title on September 22. As part of the Women’s National Team Competition System, the FIBA Women’s AmeriCup 2019 will qualify the top 8 teams to the FIBA Women’s Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournaments in November.

Festival Nacional del Plátano

The municipality of Corozal, one of the largest plantain growers on the island, is celebrating its annual plantain festival. From delicious fritters like alcapurrias to our famous mofongo, you’ll be surprised by the many delicious ways in which plantains are incorporated into Puerto Rican cuisine. The festivities will have live music, kiosks, handmade crafts, and an agricultural market around the town’s main square.

Zombie Apocalypse Race 5K

The Zombie Apocalypse Race is a 5K race with obstacles, in which runners and zombies compete to achieve their goal. In this race you can participate as a runner, trying to get to the finish line or as a zombie, trying to get the maximum number of ribbons that hang from the runners’ belts. Throughout the race there will be a series of obstacles that will be a physical challenge for all runners. But don’t worry, there is nothing impossible, you just have to climb, crawl, duck and jump, … besides dodging the more than 30 zombies that come towards you. Remember that both runners and zombies can get creative with their outfit for the Zombie Apocalypse. They can go as they wish, with sportswear or a costume.
